Spacious Garden
We have two large separate gardens for our children to explore in. This is accessed via external stable doors within the rooms and due to the addition of a permanent fence separating the 2 garden areas – we can now implement free flow play where appropriate.
Each room in the setting has direct access to the outdoor play area and the children access this area frequently throughout the day. The garden is a spacious area, fully secure where the children can run around and play on physical equipment. We plan for the outside area - taking indoor activities outside and providing opportunities for the children to develop in the 7 areas of learning.
We have a new large climbing frame for the children to explore – this will allow them access to more challenging physical play and will support building their ability to take risks.
Football coaching is provided by an outside company (Little Kickers) at the setting, This is mainly a term time only activity or every two weeks in the summer holidays. It is available for 2.5-5 year olds who are then placed into two separate groups.
We also have a third outdoors area where children can practice the forestry skills they learn out of the nursery setting, it is equipped with seating, a mud kitchen, mud oven and a variety of planters with herbs and grasses in.
All of our outdoor spaces are accessed in all weathers as we have canopies for UV protection and several all in one suits for the wet weather.
