EYFS
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets the standards that all Early Years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning and gives children the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress throughout school and life. Practitioners consider the individual needs, interests and stage of development of each child in their care and use this information to plan challenging and enjoyable experiences for each child in all of the areas of learning and development. The areas of learning and development are connected to one another and are equally important. They make up the skills, knowledge and experiences appropriate for children as they grow, learn and develop. Practitioners observe children during activities and note interests and abilities. Observations are then analysed to highlight children’s achievements or their need for further support and their progress is tracked. “What to Expect When"The new EYFS guidance designed specifically for parents – the first in-depth guide to help parents understand their child’s learning and development at different stages from birth to five http://www.foundationyears.org.uk/files/2015/03/4Children_ParentsGuide_2015_WEB.pdf |
